I've enjoyed, experienced and worked in the rural UK most of my life and absence from it has only really made my heart grow fonder. Wild is a relative term and admittedly the UK's wild places are smaller and less wild than some. Yet at the same time because they are small they are perhaps more valuable, and they are certainly safer from the complacency that comes with having too much space. On a good day there are woods, hills, dales, coastlines, any number of habitats and land forms to rival any on this planet. I would urge anyone that hasn't noticed to step outside and take a look. Perhaps this doesn't tell you much
about me, but I would have to disagree.
